Before you buy either

Neither service can stop a lender from opening an account in your name as well as a free credit freeze does, and both work better with it. Do the freeze first; then a subscription adds monitoring, insurance and help. Check the renewal price on checkout: LifeLock states that introductory prices renew at the standard price.
