Vanta costs a median of $20,000 a year, according to 375 purchases tracked by Vendr, with deals from $7,500 to about $57,000. A startup under 50 employees with one framework usually pays $12,000 to $28,000. The SOC 2 audit is extra, and first quotes often come in 20 to 40% above the final price.
Vanta doesn't publish prices, so these figures come from Vendr, a company that negotiates software contracts for buyers and publishes anonymized results (checked October 2026). We have no deal with Vanta or its competitors.

$50,000–110,000
500+ employees, 4+ frameworks
$100,000+

The plans
Vanta's pricing page lists four plans, without prices: Essentials (one framework, automated evidence, policy templates, Trust Center), Plus (adds questionnaire automation and access management), Professional (risk management, custom tests, advanced reporting) and Enterprise (custom).
What costs extra
Item
Cost
Vendor risk management
$5,000–15,000/yr
Questionnaire automation
$3,000–8,000/yr
Trust Center
$3,000–8,000/yr
Implementation / onboarding
$2,000–10,000 once
SOC 2 Type II audit (to the CPA firm)
$8,000–25,000+
ISO 27001 audit

The audit is the line people forget: Vanta prepares you, but a CPA firm signs the report, and you pay it directly. The full first-year bill is in SOC 2 certification cost.
How to pay less
Get a competing quote. Buyers with a real alternative get 15–25% better pricing. Drata and Secureframe price in the same range; see Vanta vs Drata.
Ask for the startup discount if you're under 50 employees and pre-Series A: Vendr reports 20–40% off.
Bundle frameworks upfront. Adding one mid-contract costs 15–30% more than including it at signing.
Consider two or three years for 10–30% off per year, but only with a cap on increases.
Cap renewals. Default escalators run 5–10% a year, and renewal quotes are often 10–20% higher if you don't negotiate. Ask for 0–5% in writing.
Pay annually. Monthly or quarterly billing carries a 5–10% premium.
Is Vanta worth it?
For a first SOC 2 with a small team, usually yes: the platform replaces most consultant hours, which cost more. If price is the main concern, compare it with cheaper options in Vanta competitors.

Does Vanta's price include the SOC 2 audit?
No. The audit is paid separately to a CPA firm: about $8,000 to $25,000 or more for a SOC 2 Type II, and $15,000 to $40,000 or more for ISO 27001, according to Vendr's buyer data.
Can you negotiate Vanta's price?
Yes. Vendr reports first quotes are often 20 to 40% above what buyers end up paying, with an average saving of about 30%. Competing quotes, multi-year terms and startup discounts are the usual levers.
