Drata pricing: what companies really pay

Published

Drata costs a median of $24,934 a year, based on 236 purchases tracked by Vendr, with deals from $9,415 to $68,250. Startups usually pay $12,000 to $25,000; growing companies with two or three frameworks, $30,000 to $55,000. The SOC 2 audit is paid separately, and renewals rise 5–10% a year unless you cap them.

Drata quotes every deal individually. These figures come from Vendr, which negotiates software purchases and publishes anonymized results (consulted October 2026). We have no deal with Drata or its competitors.

Price by company size

CompanyPer year
Startup (under 50–75 employees, 1 framework)$12,000–25,000
Mid-market, 50–200 employees, SOC 2 Type II$20,000–45,000
Growth (100–300 employees, 2–3 frameworks)$30,000–55,000
50–250 employees, SOC 2 + ISO 27001$40,000–65,000
Enterprise (250+ employees)$60,000–120,000+

The first framework is the most expensive; each extra one costs less, and bundling them at signing gets 10–20% better economics than adding them later. Headcount bands matter too: moving from 50–100 to 101–250 employees typically adds 10–25%.

What costs extra

ItemCost
Basic onboardingIncluded
Enhanced implementation$5,000–12,000
Readiness program (first certification)$12,000–20,000+
Custom integrations$2,000–10,000
SOC 2 Type II audit (to the CPA firm, yearly)$8,000–25,000
ISO 27001 audit (yearly)$15,000–40,000+

About 60% of first-time buyers add some paid implementation or readiness service, per Vendr. Plan also for 100–300 hours of your own team's time for a first certification.

Renewals

Typical increases are 5–10% a year; without a cap in the contract, Vendr sees 8–12%, and with one, 5–8%. Renegotiating 60–90 days before renewal can bring the price flat or down.

How to pay less

  1. Bring a competing quote from Vanta or Secureframe: buyers who do get 15–30% better pricing. See Vanta vs Drata.
  2. Sign at a quarter end (March, June, September, December) for another 5–15%.
  3. Commit to two or three years for 15–25% lower annual pricing, with a renewal cap in writing.
  4. Bundle the frameworks you'll need this year, and get implementation scope and support terms in writing.

Questions people ask

How much does Drata cost?

Drata doesn't publish prices. In Vendr's data from 236 purchases, the median buyer paid $24,934 a year, with deals from $9,415 to $68,250. Startups typically pay $12,000 to $25,000; companies with 100–300 employees and 2–3 frameworks, $30,000 to $55,000.

Does Drata charge per user?

Not per seat in the usual sense, but contracts define employee bands (for example 50–100 or 101–250), and moving up a band typically adds 10–25% to the price, according to Vendr.

Is the SOC 2 audit included in Drata's price?

No. The audit is paid to a CPA firm and recurs every year: about $8,000 to $25,000 for SOC 2 Type II and $15,000 to $40,000 or more for ISO 27001.

Can I buy Drata cheaper through a partner?

Sometimes. Agency, a Drata partner, publishes a platform price of $6,500 a year for SOC 2 at companies with 1–20 employees. Compare it with a direct quote; partners may bundle their own services.
